Celebrating Walking in Worcestershire

An introduction to Worcester Ramblers.....

Working Party - New volunteers are always needed

Would you like to volunteer for a work party but concerned you might not be up for the job?  If you can use any of the following you are qualified; secateurs, shears, slashers, loppers, hammer, drill, spade, saw or screwdriver.

Training can be given via the Council for other tools such as Strimmers and Brushcutters.

We do a fair amount of clearance work, however; we also fit a lot of different styles of gates; pedestrian, kissing, bridleway and radar plus  installation of ditch crossings, bridges and finally steps as seen extensively at Southstone Rock and Yeldon.

The work parties normally meet on the first Monday of the month. We start at 10.00 hrs and go on till around 14.00 - 15.00 hrs. The size of the work party can vary but normally around six volunteers is ideal. You don’t have to stay the whole day if you don’t want to. So if you would like to do your bit for the countryside and Ramblers in general please contact me - Doug Worcester Ramblers website

Pictured here is an example of the working party activity, where the volunteers replaced the stile with a gate at Great Witley.
